Helping your Child with Maths

Course Description

This course is for parents or carers of children at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who want a better understanding of how they can help them in Maths. The course runs for 10 weeks, meeting once a week for 2 hours. The course will give you a chance to develop your own everyday maths skills and develop your own confidence in this area.

It is particularly useful for those who prefer to work together as a group, solving problems and developing confidence with other adults who feel the same about maths. By the end of the course you will be aware of how maths skills can be developed through play and other everyday activities and how maths is taught in schools today.

On completion of this course learners will be encouraged to take the national test in numeracy.
