Helping in Schools – accredited
Course Description
The Helping in Schools course is for adults who want to know more about schools and how they work and how they can help in a school on a voluntary basis. The course will also help you with note-taking, selecting and using information and improving your organisational skills.
You will also find out about working with teachers and pupils, the part you can play in the classroom including learning practical skills, how children learn and be introduced to the school curriculum – including Literacy Hour and the daily mathematics lesson.
During the course you will be expected to help your child’s school for at least two hours per week. You will have to arrange this with your child’s head teacher. You can only enrol on the course with a form signed by your head teacher confirming you have a placement.
