Family First Aid


Course Description

Developed and delivered by St.John Ambulance this new style course reflects the needs of the modern workplace. This is a practical ‘hands-on’ course which is flexible to meet individual needs.

This First Aid course is designed to encourage families to learn first aid together. It covers all the protocols the modern family needs to know and covers the following.

Contents:

• Asthma
• Fainting
• Bites & stings
• Head injuries
• Bleeding - minor
• Meningitis
• Bleeding – severe
• Poisons
• Bone, muscle & joint injuries
• Primary survey
• Burns – minor
• Seizures
• Burns – severe
• Shock
• Chest pains
• Sprains & strains
• Choking – all ages
• Stroke
• Resuscitation – all ages
• Unconscious casualty
• Communications & casualty care

Additional Information

Duration: 6 hours long, assessed throughout the course so no exam to pass. Children need to be 5+ years old and accompanied by at least one parent, carer or guardian.
