Early Years First Aid
Course Description
Developed and delivered by St.John Ambulance this new style course reflects the needs of the modern workplace. This is a practical hands-on course which is flexible to meet individual needs.
This course is designed for people who work in the care of those who are under the age of 8 and are covered by the OFSTED National Standards and covers the following:
Allergic reaction
Head injuries
Asthma
Heat & cold extremes
Bites & stings
Low blood sugar
Bleeding sever
Poisons, gases & fumes
Bleeding & bruising
Primary survey
Bone, muscle & joint injury
Rescue breaths
Burns & scalds
Shock
Childhood conditions
Seizures in children
Choking (age appropriate)
Seizures
Communications & casualty care
Role of the First Aider in an Early Years setting
CPR (age appropriate)
Sprains & strains
Eye injury
Unconscious casualty
Foreign objects
Additional Information
Duration: 2 consecutive days (12 hours long, assessed throughout the course).
